Kepala Badan Pengatur Hilir Minyak dan Gas Bumi (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati menyoroti peran usaha hilir minyak dan gas bumi dalam masa transisi energi.
Menurut dia, dalam keterangannya di Jakarta, Jumat, sesuai amanat Undang-Undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2001 tentang Minyak dan Gas Bumi, BPH Migas dibentuk untuk melakukan pengaturan dan pengawasan terhadap penyediaan dan pendistribusian bahan bakar minyak (BBM) dan gas bumi, serta pengangkutan gas bumi melalui pipa pada kegiatan usaha hilir.
“Dalam mendukung transisi energi yang merupakan proses perubahan menuju penggunaan sumber energi bersih, peran hilir migas juga perlu tetap diperhatikan dan menarik untuk didiskusikan,” katanya saat acara Hilir Migas Conference & Expo sekaligus BPH Migas Award Tahun 2024 di Jakarta, Kamis (12/12/2024).
Erika melanjutkan bagaimana peran BBM ke depan, yang akan tergantikan dengan energi lebih ramah lingkungan yaitu energi baru dan terbarukan, maupun energi lainnya, seperti gas bumi sebagai energi bersih atau dalam usaha mencapai transisi energi masih melibatkan pemanfaatan BBM yang lebih ramah lingkungan.
Menurut dia, ajang Hilir Migas Conference & Expo 2024 bertujuan menggali pengetahuan, pengalaman dan ide-ide terbaru, termasuk arah kebijakan dan inovasi di sektor hilir migas.
“Kegiatan ini untuk mendiskusikan beberapa hal terkait transisi energi, terutama peran hilir migas dalam transisi energi,” sebut Erika.
Kegiatan BPH Migas, yang dibuka Wakil Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral Yuliot Tanjung tersebut, dikemas dalam beberapa sesi diskusi seperti plenary session dengan tema “Tantangan dan Terobosan Kebijakan dalam rangka Penyediaan dan Pemanfaatan Sektor Hilir Migas dalam Era Transisi Energi”.
