Timnas futsal Indonesia melaju ke partai final ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024 atau Piala AFF Futsal 2024 setelah mempermalukan tim tuan rumah Thailand dengan skor 5-1 pada semifinal di Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, Jumat.
Pada pertandingan ini, pelatih timnas Indonesia Hector Souto menurunkan Ahmad Habiebie di posisi kiper, Rizki Xavier sebagai anchor, Muhammad Iqbal sebagai flank kanan, Firman Adriansyah sebagai flank kiri, dan Israr sebagai pivot dalam lima pemain pertamanya.
Kedua tim saling jual beli serangan pada babak pertama. Namun, Indonesia mampu memimpin 1-0 pada babak pertama setelah Evan Soumilena memanfaatkan situasi serangan balik untuk membawa Merah Putih unggul pada menit ke-8.
Thailand sempat akan menyamakan kedudukan pada menit ke-13. Namun, bola yang akan melewati garis gawang berhasil dihalau oleh Iqbal sehingga skor tetap 1-0.
Pada babak kedua, Indonesia yang unggul satu gol bermain lebih percaya diri. Mereka kemudian memperlebar keunggulan menjadi 2-0 pada menit ke-22 melalui Brian Ick setelah pemain asal Jayapura itu memanfaatkan umpan Evan.
