Terpidana kasus pembunuhan Wayan Mirna Salihin, Jessica Kumala Wongso, mendaftarkan permohonan peninjauan kembali atas putusan Mahkamah Agung ke Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat.
Penasihat hukum Jessica Wongso, Otto Hasibuan, mengatakan permohonan peninjauan kembali (PK) dilakukan karena pihaknya menemukan novum (peristiwa atau bukti) baru dan adanya kekeliruan hakim.
“Tapi, mungkin supaya saya lebih bebas dan lebih tepat menjelaskannya, izinkan kami mendaftarkan dulu PK ini. Setelah itu, kami akan jelaskan detail yang menjadi dasar permohonan PK ini,” kata Otto saat ditemui di PN Jakarta Pusat, Rabu.
Meskipun Jessica sudah bebas bersyarat, Otto menuturkan Jessica tetap merasa tidak melakukan perbuatan yang dituduhkan kepadanya sehingga ingin membantah dan berharap MA menyatakan Jessica tidak bersalah.
Ia menegaskan bahwa PK merupakan hak yang diberikan kepada seseorang apabila orang tersebut merasa tidak melakukan perbuatan yang dituduhkan kepadanya.
